One-on-one coaching is the process of one person helping another overcome an issue or improve performance. It revolves around sharing experiences and knowledge around specific topics or areas, showing how to best approach different situations, and laying out the steps that should be used when executing the task. Group coaching incorporates multiple individuals
Group Coaching is a facilitative process that leverages the resources and knowledge of a group of individuals working on a common theme but having different individual performance goals.
Life coaching enables clients through personal or career challenges. The goal of life coaching is to help guide clients to reach their ultimate goals. Life coaching can help individuals in different areas of their life. But because each human being is different, so will their goals.
Career transition coaching focuses on helping clients to understand their job search by helping them craft a resume and social profiles, perform online and in-person networking, and - eventually - prep for an interview that will hopefully land them a job.
While group coaching helps individuals who do not necessarily work together and have different individual goals, team and organizational coaching provides teams with the tools and communication mechanisms to reach success. Team coaching helps to accelerate team performance. It is a tool for helping individuals work more efficiently together to reach common workplace goals.
Convinced coaching is for you, or at least ready to take the next step in exploring more? My guess is that if you’ve gotten this far, you’re starting to wonder, “How much is this going to cost me?”
Here’s my approach to setting the appropriate price for coaching. I believe you will get as much out of coaching as you invest in it. If the amount you’re paying is uncomfortable enough, you’ll invest the time and energy to get where you want. If your investment feels like an afterthought, you’re unlikely to make the investment necessary to make the change. However, at the same time, I don’t believe you should ever put yourself at financial risk to receive excellent coaching.
We will work together to find a sweet spot where the investment feels a bit uncomfortable in the wallet but does not create an unreasonable risk to financial well-being. I think about coaching much like paying for a series of therapist consults, personal training sessions or yoga classes. This is an investment in your wellbeing, enabled by an expert in enabling you to shape the change you wish to seek in yourself. As a ballpark, we meet with our one-on-one coaching clients between 2-4 times per month under a subscription model costing between $500 and $1,500 per month. This approach allows our clients to set the schedule and frequency that best meets their needs. Additionally, for new clients, we ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months because change can happen fast, but not always overnight.
